Most Equipment Emergencies Are Missed Checks: John Deere 350G Excavator, Backhoes, and the Parts We Forget

I think most emergency parts requests are really missed checks. I say that as the person who gets the 2 a.m. phone call. I'm not saying every failure is avoidable. Hoses leak, seals wear, and rocks find windows. But from where I sit, the ratio is backwards. Too many of my emergency calls are for things that had a warning sign. That's why I've become the person who says: do the boring check, choose the right machine, and order the part before you need it.
